Home Remedies for Genital Warts

There are a number of ways to treat genital warts. Choosing a treatment depends on your own beliefs and personal preferences. Some people will choose to use medical treatment from a doctor and even doctors have different approaches at treatment. You may also choose to try a home remedy. In this article we will look at home remedies for genital warts.

The most common treatment for these warts is to use essential oils. There are 2 essential oils that have great success - they are tea tree oil and thuja oil. Tea tree oil is known to have antiseptic and antifungal properties. These oils have proved themselves so effective that even pharmaceutical companies are now developing treatment based on tea tree oil.

Applying these oils directly on the warts eventually reduces them in size and many times the warts will completely disappear. Using the oils directly on your body can sometimes be irritating - so it is best to mix them.

Here is a solution that many have found helpful and you can make right at home;
You will need these ingredients;
* Tea tree essential oil
* Thuja essential oil
* Vitamin E oil
* Castor oil

For the vitamin E oil - you can use vitamin E gel capsules and break them open.

Combine ½ ounce of castor oil with a ¼ teaspoon of the thuja and tea tree essential oils and 800 IUs of vitamin E. Mix them together and then using a q-tip dab this mixture directly onto the warts. You want to make sure you only put this onto the warts not on the surrounding skin as it could be very irritating.

This method is the most widely used home remedy for genital warts and usually, over time, it is extremely successful.

Since genital warts are caused by a virus - strengthening your immune system is important in getting rid of these warts. Besides eating healthy and getting enough rest and exercise there are herbs and vitamins that can help your immune system get stronger. Taking daily vitamins can give you a boost. Others have said adding raw garlic or garlic pills to your diet can help. Some of the herbs that may also help are: Echinacea, Astragalus,  Gingko Biloba, Goldenseal, St. John's Wort, and Olive leaf.

Please remember none of these home remedies are medically proven though many people have claimed they have benefited from them. Taking the time to speak with a doctor might be the best path for you. Your health is your responsibility - don't do anything without the proper research.
